Honda introduced a plastic radiator plug on the left radiator of the 2014 CRF 250R and the 2013-20140 CRF 450R to allow air to be purged from the cooling system when refilling. The plug can be damaged by rock impact or melt under extreme load conditions. Coolant loss or even minimal cooling system pressure loss can lead to rapid serious engine damage with costly repairs. HONDA does not sell the stock plug separate from the radiator!

Bling and performance

These plugs are a added bling bonus but also a necessity . The oem Crf Plastic plugs chew up and cross thread easy . The aluminum plugs are much more reliable !

Splitstream Billet Aluminum Radiator Purge Plug - Bling with a purpose

Not sure about the other manufacturers but the Honda's come with a piece of plastic with a Phillips drive for the radiator relief plug (left side). So easy to strip out when putting any kind of pressure on it. this piece allows you to use a T-handle as you would with any other piece on the bike. Good investment and as do most billet pieces, looks sharp too!
